Panning for gold-halide solutions by X-ray diffraction.
X-ray diffraction patterns of solutions of gold chloride in organic solvents were obtained in a particular configuration of the beam. The patterns were obtained with a reflection geometry of the detector, allowing a scan of a single point of the sample. These X-ray diffraction patterns were interpreted in terms of the atomic density of the gold-halide solutions. The experimental measurements were interpreted in terms of a two-step process in which the halide is transferred from the solid state into the solution and finally to the gas phase. The distribution of the gold-halide complexes in the solution was quantitatively determined.The goal of this application is to enhance the research skills and experience of the applicant by providing a 5-week course on animal models of AIDS. The applicant is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a graduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Texas at Austin. Learn Autogenic Breathing enables you to learn the following meditation techniques faster and better:
Autogenic Breathing is one of the most well known autogenic methods. Autogenic Breathing can be used to help calm the nervous system, improve concentration and help you to relax. In this software, you will learn about how to do Autogenic Breathing.
Learn Autogenic Breathing can be done in two ways:
1. Self Control. This method uses the ears, tongue, eyes and body to learn Autogenic Breathing. To start this exercise, you begin with a target, in this case, your ears. When you hear a noise, focus on the sound of the noise and imagine breathing in and out through your ears. When your mind wanders away from the sound, immediately return your attention to it. This is one full breath. After you complete a series of 5-10 Autogenic Breaths, the next step is to repeat this exercise with your eyes. In this case, first focus on your eyes, then when you feel your mind wandering, focus on the noise once again. Once your attention is on the noise, continue breathing in and out through your eyes. Continue this practice until you can follow your mind on its wandering path.
2. Visualization. This method uses a series of mental pictures to learn Autogenic Breathing. In this software, you will learn two different methods of using this tool. The first method is the “body method”, where you imagine the body being flooded with warmth and exercise and breathing out all of the air and tension in the body. Once you imagine that this is happening, it is important to remain in the mental picture of this event until you have completely imagined it. The second method is the “picture method”, where you first imagine a relaxing scene and then slowly your mind’s eye follows the scene. While you are in the mental picture, you breathe in and breathe out, feeling a sense of full relaxation as your mind moves with the picture. After you imagine the picture for a few minutes, you are finished.
